Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard Hall (ranked 237 p4p, 1434 weight class) and Colby Brown (ranked 35 p4p, 95 weight class). Colby Brown has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Richard Hall!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Colby Brown!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall fails in his attempt to clinch.
Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
Hall is looking to counter the offense by Brown and move into the clinch.
Brown gets off balance looking for a body kick

so Hall counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hall passes Brown's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brown looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Brown is not content to let Hall control the position.
Brown tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hall has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown tries to control Hall's body but Hall pushes him off. Brown squirms to his side and now Hall has his back!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hall is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Brown has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Brown trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Will Hall go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Hall gets his hands free as Brown looks to control.
Brown tries to roll but Hall sticks to his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hall is not going to allow Brown to sit and survive in this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hall's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Hall has the hooks in. Brown is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Hall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brown isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hall stacks Brown on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hall!

Brown is controlling an arm, preventing Hall from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Brown is trying to escape the mount.
Brown is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brown is working to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Hall dominated that round.
That's time! Hall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hall tries to score a body lock takedown but Brown shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Brown tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Hall trying to control the position but instead, Brown has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hall into the cage.
Brown tries to work over Hall's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Hall manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Brown postures up in Hall's guard and throws a big left but Hall blocks it.

Brown must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hall controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.
Hall pulls Brown in close to his closed guard and prevents Brown from doing any damage or advancing position.
Brown looking to sit in guard and control but Hall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brown wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Hall trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brown's guard.

Brown is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Hall has latched onto it... Big trouble! Hall pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Brown is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Hall!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richard Hall!

Richard Hall decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
