Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johan Christ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Christ connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mendy scrambles back to his feet. Christ lands with an overhand left. Mendy takes a swing at Christ's ribcage but misses. Mendy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Christ quickly recovers to half guard. Mendy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Christ tries to kick Mendy off but Mendy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Christ's coaches at Zero Tolerance have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Christ on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Christ tries to get out of the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mendy is figuring out what he wants to do next. Mendy is pressing down on Christ's thigh, looking to free his foot. Christ is holding on for now. Mendy slips a nice elbow through Christ's hands, connecting with Christ's forehead. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mendy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Christ.
Mendy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mendy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mendy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Christ tries to escape but Mendy is in control. Mendy landing a few strikes.

Mendy is looking to take a break and control but Christ is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Christ is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mendy connects with a decent elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mendy working the ground and pound from side control. Mendy in side control, throwing shots but Christ defends. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mendy working his ground and pound in the gym. Mendy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Christ keeps working. Christ wants to get back to his feet but Mendy drags him back down. Christ trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mendy trying to control the action but Christ is working from the bottom. Mendy lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendy lands some shots froms side control. Christ tries to escape but Mendy is in control. Christ knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendy on the ground. Mendy looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Christ is avoiding damage well.
Mendy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Christ wants to get back to his feet. Christ takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Christ wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Christ bucks up and tries to throw Mendy off but instead Mendy has got his back! Christ is trying to get back to his feet but Mendy has full control of the position and if anything, Christ has just worked his way into a worse spot. Mendy trying to control momentarily.
Christ is covering up but some of the strikes from Mendy are getting through and doing damage.

Mendy is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Mendy is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Christ with him. Christ is trying to defend but Mendy has an arm under the chin now! Christ grimaces and is forced to tap out!
