The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Soares misses with a straight left.

Mma misses with a low kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mma. Soares does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mma takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Soares throws the left hand but Mma avoids the punch easily.
Soares fails with the takedown.
Mma throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mma looks to throw the jab but Soares is out of range.
Mma takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mma misses with an uppercut. Soares saw that one coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Soares takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Soares closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mma quickly recovers to half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Soares lands a nice short elbow.

Soares lands a couple of good shots and Mma has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Mma is trying to get back to his feet but Soares has full control of the position and if anything, Mma has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mma covers up after that shot from Soares.
Soares scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Mma is looking for a way out.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Soares.
Mma grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Soares lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Mma is trying to stand back up.
Mma is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Soares off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Soares has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mma.
Mma is still in real trouble! Can Soares finish him?
