Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akira Maeda (ranked 473 p4p, 1135 weight class) and Ousmane Cisse (ranked 72 p4p, 162 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Akira Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ousmane Cisse!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cisse throws a hook but Maeda blocks it.
Maeda throwing a counter right hand but Cisse manages to avoid it.
Maeda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cisse manages to avoid it.
Cisse scores with a jab. Maeda acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Maeda looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cisse misses with a lunging right hand
and Maeda connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cisse misses the jab.
Cisse throws a body punch but Maeda moves out of range.
Maeda tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Cisse manages to circle out of the way.
Maeda dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Maeda steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cisse.
Maeda misses with a body shot.
Cisse swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cisse throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cisse looks to land a left hand but Maeda moved out of range nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cisse jabs at Maeda's body.
Maeda drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Cisse misses with a hook to the body
and Maeda counters with a right hand to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cisse throws a shot from downtown. Maeda moves away and avoids it.
Cisse takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maeda lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Maeda.
Maeda has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cisse avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Maeda tries for a takedown but Cisse manages to get underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Cisse's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cisse pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maeda gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Maeda fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Cisse throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Maeda to counter with a crisp jab.
Maeda steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cisse.
Maeda seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Cisse throws a right hand that misses
and Maeda counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Maeda changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Cisse. No joy for Maeda on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akira Maeda. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maeda displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cisse throws out the jab.
Maeda drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cisse sprawls and moves away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cisse swings away with a body shot that misses
and Maeda counters with a straight right hand.
Maeda on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Maeda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maeda ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Maeda throws a shot to the body.

Cisse feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Maeda sprawling to the canvas! Maeda rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cisse finish him?!

Maeda is rocked!
Cisse looks to land a right hand but Maeda moved out of range.
Oh Maeda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cisse moves in close and cracks Maeda with a massive right hand! Maeda, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Cisse!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ousmane Cisse!
A very excited looking Ousmane Cisse rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
