Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Schultz (ranked 2844 p4p, 5541 weight class) and Jit Lang (ranked 286 p4p, 422 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Schultz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jit Lang! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schultz on the wrong end of a nice jab. Schultz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lang seems a little lost for a moment, as Schultz dominates the positioning. Schultz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Schultz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ground and pound from Schultz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Schultz looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Lang is avoiding damage well.
Schultz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Schultz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lang takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've been hearing good reports from Schultz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lang is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Schultz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schultz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Schultz just content to control the position. Lang looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schultz working the ground and pound but Lang is defending the strikes. Schultz tries to score with some ground and pound. Lang controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Schultz in side control, just content to control the action for now. Schultz postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lang tries to bench press Schultz off him but Schultz keeps the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Lang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schultz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schultz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lang being controlled for a moment. Lang is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Schultz controlling the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Schultz dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schultz is defended easily by Lang. Schultz sets himself, and Lang steps forward looking for the clinch! Schultz avoids it this time. Schultz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Schultz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lang swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lang trying to keep a closed guard but Schultz is proving a slippery customer.
Schultz content to stall in guard here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lang can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schultz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Schultz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schultz controls the position from side control. Schultz is chipping away with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lang trying to remain calm as Schultz controls from the top position. Schultz in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Schultz tries to score with some ground and pound. Lang controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Schultz is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lang will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Schultz in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Schultz is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lang looks calm but he's in trouble here. Schultz gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lang is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Schultz lets go of the hold and Lang can pop his arm back in it's socket.
