PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gen Block (ranked 4954 p4p, 5828 weight class) and Goren Andarys (ranked 218 p4p, 237 weight class). Andarys has chosen Why Won't He Break as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Goren Andarys told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Block missing with a left hand there. Andarys was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Andarys scores with a leg kick.
Andarys steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Block.
Block avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Andarys does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Block goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Andarys rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Block's guard! Nice work there by Andarys!

That was a close round but I would say that Gen Block will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Andarys lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Block has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Block and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Block drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Andarys manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Block has Andarys in his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gen Block overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Block is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Andarys stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Block swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Block working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andarys doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andarys manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
