The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Free looks to land a combination but Hawkins avoids it well.
Hawkins is looking to clinch but Free is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Free or perhaps it was just good defense by Hawkins, which made it look bad.
Hawkins smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hawkins doesn't manage to clinch there - Free circles away.
Hawkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hawkins tries to counter by closing the distance.
Free closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawkins circles away.

Hawkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hawkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Free tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hawkins is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hawkins extends the arm and Free is forced to tap!
