Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gerwazy Babula (ranked 4358 p4p, 6283 weight class) and Logan Hammer (ranked 530 p4p, 626 weight class). Babula kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hey Buddy. Hammer has chosen Sick Logic - Broke as his entrance music. The key to victory for Gerwazy Babula has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Logan Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Babula clinches up with Hammer and pushes him back against the cage.
Hammer jumps guard but Babula stands there with Hammer around his waist. Hammer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hammer trying to control the position but instead, Babula has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hammer into the cage.
Babula stops a takedown attempt from Hammer.

Babula is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Babula keeping moving, preventing Hammer from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babula wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hammer manages to pass to side control.
Hammer slows the pace down in half guard.

Babula tries to kick Hammer off but Hammer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hammer is trying to control the action in half guard but Babula is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Babula's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Babula is trying to stand back up but Hammer is controlling him
Babula trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hammer tries to clinch but Babula is having none of it.
Hammer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Babula manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Babula swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hammer swings for the body but Babula moves out of range.

Babula has Hammer up against the cage in a clinch.
Hammer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Babula smiles and moves away.
Gerwazy Babula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Hammer.

Babula closes the distance and pushes Hammer back into the cage.
Hammer tries a body shot but Babula blocks it.
Hammer tries to stall but Babula uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Babula escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Babula lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Babula.
Hammer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Babula turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Babula stands up and we're back to a striking position.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Hammer tries to break free but Babula pushes him back against the cage.

Babula is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hammer is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hammer pushes down on Babula's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Babula is staying active underneath Hammer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Babula is looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Hammer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gerwazy Babula dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Babula has managed to clinch.

Hammer pulls Babula in close to prevent any damage.

Hammer is working an open guard so Babula takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Babula lands with a hook. Hammer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Babula closes the distance and pushes Hammer back into the cage.

Babula has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hammer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Babula is looking to control Hammer but Hammer is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Babula stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Gerwazy Babula seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hammer tries to clinch but Babula moves out of range.

and Babula counters with a huge left! Hammer is in big trouble! He's backing up but Babula isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hammer from any more damage. A dominating finish by Babula!
