Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 2125 p4p, 2345 weight class) and Vic Barnes (ranked 75 p4p, 87 weight class). Takeishi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kabuki Gomen-Jyo. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Barnes.
It seemed like Barnes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Takeishi doesn't manage to clinch there - Barnes circles away.

As Takeishi backs off Barnes throws a huge counter combo but Takeishi manages to avoid it all.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takeishi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barnes.

and Barnes counters with a head kick. That will keep Takeishi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Mitsugu Takeishi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight stays on the outside here - Takeishi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Takeishi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barnes sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Barnes lands a big head kick that sends Takeishi tumbling to the mat! Barnes takes a step backwards and waves Takeishi back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Takeishi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.
