The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gill defending well as Boorsock loads up on a big left hand.
Gill looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Boorsock is looking to clinch but Gill is avoiding it.
Gill stuffs the takedown.
Boorsock shoots in but Gill avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Boorsock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gill but Gill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
John Gill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Boorsock.
No luck for Boorsock with that takedown attempt.
Boorsock fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Boorsock shoots for a double leg takedown but Gill sprawls well. He's pushed Boorsock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gill lands in his opponent's guard.
Gill passes Boorsock's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Boorsock looks like he's trying to stand up.

Gill works his way into side control.
Boorsock tries to escape back to his feet but Gill has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Boorsock's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Boorsock is tapping! Gill saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
