Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Hokuto Akira (ranked 2115 p4p, 22249 weight class) and Marco Salamanca (ranked 245 p4p, 581 weight class). Salamanca is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Superstar Cypress Hill. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Akira takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Salamanca lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Salamanca has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Salamanca counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Akira on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Salamanca. Salamanca obviously looking to wear him down.

and Salamanca counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Salamanca lunges at Akira with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Akira's hand.
Akira is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Akira lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Akira fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Salamanca looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Marco Salamanca seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Salamanca thuds his right hand into Akira's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Akira was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and as Salamanca tries to reset, Akira cracks him with a perfect counter right hand that drops him to the mat! Salamanca is trying to get up but he's doing the chicken dance and face plants back to the floor - that's enough for the referee and he's called the bout! This one is all over!
