Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Hamada (ranked 851 p4p, 1975 weight class) and Jesse Custer (ranked 113 p4p, 249 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryo Hamada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Custer! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hamada doesn't succeed with the takedown and Custer counters with a nice body shot. Hamada doesn't succeed with the takedown and Custer counters with a nice body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Hamada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Custer lands a nice looking body kick. Hamada fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hamada will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jab, jab by Custer - just one landing.
It looks like Ryo Hamada has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Custer moves out of range of the body kick from Hamada.

and Custer counters with a slapping leg kick. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Custer - that will leave a mark!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hamada looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hamada tries to land a front kick but Custer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. It seemed like Custer was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamada bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Custer has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Hamada gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Custer counter with a right hand. Hamada on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Hamada waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Custer. Custer works Hamada's body with a nice hook. Hamada throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Custer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Custer now looks to counter with a shot at the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Hamada. Custer does a little dance to reset his feet. Custer throws out a counter right but Hamada avoids it with no problem. Hamada has a takedown stuffed. Hamada shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A big left from Hamada misses. No luck for Hamada with that takedown attempt. Custer thinks about the counter body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hamada looks to throw the jab but Custer is out of range. Hamada misses with a body kick. Jesse Custer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hamada tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Custer counters with a right hand to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hamada throws a left and a right that both miss
and Custer counters with a crisp right hand that drops Hamada! Custer lets Hamada back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Custer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hamada. Custer connects with a leg kick. Custer ducks under a wild hook from Hamada. Hamada throws the left hand but Custer avoids the punch easily. Hamada lands a slapping body shot.
Custer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hamada throws a big elbow that misses. Hamada wants to control from the top but Custer keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamada pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Custer is keeping the position for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hamada accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hamada is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Custer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Custer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Custer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamada. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Custer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Custer trying to control the position here. Hamada drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hamada jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hamada throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Custer keeping moving, preventing Hamada from controlling successfully. Hamada working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Custer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Custer preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hamada is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Custer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Custer has escaped and now he's on top! Hamada wants to stand up but Custer is controlling him. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hamada tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse Custer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ryo Hamada's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Hamada throws a sloppy head kick and Custer finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Custer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hamada throws out the jab. Custer is trying to counter with his kicks. Custer thumps Hamada with a low kick. Custer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Custer avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hamada fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A countering left hand to the body from Custer misses. Hamada on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ryo Hamada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hamada throws a looping overhand right but Custer ducks down to avoid it. Custer connects with a solid leg kick. Hamada thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Custer connects with an inside leg kick. Hamada lands with an overhand left. Hamada fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hamada shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Custer sprawls well. Custer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hamada gets slowly back to his feet. Custer now looks to counter with a shot at the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Hamada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Custer moves out of range as Hamada strikes. Custer steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Custer slips under a jab. Hamada swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Custer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hamada tries to clinch and Custer counters with a thumping low kick. Hamada misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Custer.
Custer lands with a good body shot. Custer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Custer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hamada. Custer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Custer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from Hamada misses the target. Hamada walks forward, straight into a front kick from Custer. Custer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hamada slips under a jab from Custer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamada throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Custer counters with a crisp right hand that drops Hamada! Custer lets Hamada back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Hamada is rocked! Custer thuds his shin into the meat of Hamada's side. Oh Hamada is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Custer fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Hamada square on the jaw! Damn, Hamada is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jesse Custer! During a confident post fight interview, Jesse Custer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
