PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cleon Wright (ranked 1538 p4p, 1762 weight class) and Antonio Zetsika (ranked 169 p4p, 195 weight class). Wright kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Come out to play . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Zetsika!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zetsika moves into the clinch.
Wright throws a head punch that misses.
Zetsika wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wright is struggling to control the position.

Zetsika escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zetsika is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Zetsika closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zetsika lands in his opponent's guard.
Wright definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zetsika tries to stand but Wright is controlling from the bottom.
Zetsika tries to free his leg and advance position but Wright is retaining full guard.
Wright is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zetsika decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Zetsika cracks Wright with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zetsika has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cleon Wright is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Zetsika scores with a jab to the jaw.

Zetsika closes the distance and clinches.
Wright manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Wright working some nice short punches in the clinch.

It looks like Antonio Zetsika has been cut.

Zetsika tries to pull guard but Wright holds him up against the cage and eventually Zetsika drops back down to his feet.

Zetsika breaks the clinch.
Zetsika will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zetsika misses with a hook
and Wright counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Zetsika takes a swing at Wright 's ribcage but misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Wright misses its target.
Zetsika looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cleon Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Zetsika.

Wright drops Zetsika with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zetsika looks back up at him and smiles so Wright waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Zetsika is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Wright engages and cracks Zetsika with a massive lead left hook - Zetsika tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Wright is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
