Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rick Richardson (ranked 705 p4p, 888 weight class) and Mario Santos (ranked 47 p4p, 105 weight class). Richardson comes to the cage accompanied by Make The Money. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rick Richardson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Santos!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Richardson is looking to clinch but Santos is avoiding it.
Santos connects with a nice looking jab.
Richardson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Santos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

We've been hearing good reports from Richardson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Richardson is on top in guard.

Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Richardson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Richardson is pushing down on Santos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santos is fighting to maintain full guard but Richardson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Richardson is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer.
Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richardson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Richardson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santos avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Richardson tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Santos paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Richardson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Santos moves away from the strike by Richardson.
Santos tries to clinch there but Richardson circles away.
Richardson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Santos.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Richardson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

and Richardson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Richardson cracks Santos with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Santos takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Santos glances at the clock... BAM! Richardson nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Santos crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Santos is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rick Richardson!

Rick Richardson gave a mention to Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
