Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Beckwith (ranked 851 p4p, 2232 weight class) and Raja Jooseppi (ranked 52 p4p, 141 weight class). Rudy Beckwith is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rudy Beckwith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raja Jooseppi!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckwith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jooseppi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jooseppi throws a jab but it's blocked by Beckwith.
As Jooseppi tries to get set, Beckwith tries to push him back and clinch up but Jooseppi manages to avoid the attempt.
Beckwith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jooseppi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jooseppi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Beckwith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jooseppi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beckwith manages to avoid it.
Beckwith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jooseppi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beckwith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudy Beckwith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beckwith steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jooseppi.
Jooseppi connects with a body shot that sends Beckwith's belly button to the back.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jooseppi. Beckwith does a little dance to reset his feet.

Beckwith drives through and clinches with Jooseppi against the cage.
Jooseppi tries to work over Beckwith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Jooseppi lands a right hand.

Jooseppi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Beckwith is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jooseppi to the mat. Jooseppi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jooseppi has his foot on Beckwith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beckwith works his way back into a safe position though.

Beckwith controls from within his opponent's guard.
Beckwith tries to free his leg and advance position but Jooseppi is retaining full guard.

Beckwith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jooseppi misses with a straight right.
Jooseppi throws a jab when Beckwith was well out of range.
Beckwith half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Beckwith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Beckwith blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Beckwith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jooseppi walks away with a smile on his face. Beckwith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Beckwith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Beckwith feinted with a counter takedown.
Jooseppi misses with a hook. Beckwith ducked under it nicely.

Beckwith drives through and clinches with Jooseppi against the cage.

Jooseppi receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

Beckwith pulls guard successfully.

Jooseppi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beckwith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jooseppi has managed to get both his arms back between Beckwith's legs - danger averted.
Jooseppi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beckwith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jooseppi is pushing down on Beckwith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Beckwith is fighting to maintain full guard but Jooseppi has managed to sneak the leg through.
Beckwith is not content to let Jooseppi control the position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Beckwith wants to improve his position but Jooseppi is controlling well.
Beckwith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jooseppi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jooseppi's back!

Beckwith is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jooseppi defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jooseppi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Beckwith's guard. Nice work there by Jooseppi.

Beckwith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Beckwith is looking to counter the offense by Jooseppi and move into the clinch.

Beckwith feints and as Jooseppi raises his hands in defense, Beckwith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jooseppi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beckwith defends it easily.
Beckwith passes Jooseppi's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jooseppi is looking to improve his position.

Beckwith uses his free foot to push down on Jooseppi's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jooseppi.
Rudy Beckwith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jooseppi is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Beckwith looking to break Jooseppi's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jooseppi remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Beckwith will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Jooseppi is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Beckwith off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Beckwith is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jooseppi has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Jooseppi defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Beckwith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jooseppi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jooseppi wants to get up but he can't break Beckwith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jooseppi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Beckwith has his feet on Jooseppi's thighs here. He's pushed Jooseppi off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jooseppi screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Rudy Beckwith decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
