Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Bertazzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bertazzo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is It's a Fight. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Bertazzo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Liddell! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bertazzo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddell but Liddell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bertazzo forces Liddell back against the cage and clinches. Liddell manages to break the clinch.
Liddell stuffs the takedown. Bertazzo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Liddell gets a takedown into half guard. Bertazzo trying to control but Liddell postures up.
Bertazzo manages to escape and get back to his feet! Bertazzo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bertazzo stands up. Bertazzo misses with a takedown and Liddell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrigo Bertazzo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bertazzo is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Liddell is looking for a kimura here.
Bertazzo wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy and won't allow it. Liddell stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bertazzo to get to his feet. Liddell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Liddell working the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell has an Americana. Bertazzo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Liddell is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Liddell hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Felipe Liddell!
