PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brutalis Rhino (ranked 3235 p4p, 3728 weight class) and Yoji Anjo Anjo (ranked 411 p4p, 467 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brutalis Rhino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoji Anjo Anjo!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anjo has managed to clinch.

Rhino escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Anjo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rhino uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Anjo shoots in looking for a takedown but Rhino manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anjo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rhino shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anjo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rhino tries for a kimura but Anjo is defending well.
Anjo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Anjo is looking to get back to his feet here but Rhino is keeping cool and he's managed to take Anjo's back.
I really don't envy Anjo right now.
Rhino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rhino has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Anjo is in a bad position with Rhino working for a choke. Anjo manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Anjo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rhino looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rhino is working hard here to advance position.
Rhino will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Anjo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rhino bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anjo's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rhino distracts Anjo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Anjo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Rhino wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anjo keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Anjo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rhino swings around for an armbar but Anjo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rhino's guard.

Rhino is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Anjo wants to control from the top but Rhino keeps moving.

Rhino wants to stand up but Anjo is controlling him.
Rhino is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anjo has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rhino. Oh but Anjo has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rhino goes limp - he's gone! Anjo jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
