Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sean OMalley (ranked 3115 p4p, 4658 weight class) and Gerald Jones (ranked 165 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from OMalley.
A punch combination from Jones misses.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.

Jones moves into the clinch.
OMalley throws a head punch that misses.
OMalley tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.
OMalley fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean OMalley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
OMalley is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OMalley is looking for a takedown.

OMalley manages to break the clinch.
OMalley is looking to clinch.
OMalley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but OMalley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
OMalley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.

OMalley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from OMalley. No joy for Jones on that attempt.

Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in OMalley's half guard.
Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
OMalley wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.

and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings OMalley.
OMalley is breathing heavily.

OMalley wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jones clinches with his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A knee to the head by Jones.
OMalley lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. OMalley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
OMalley tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.
OMalley is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jones lands with a left to the head.
Jones scores with a knee to the head.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

OMalley shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but OMalley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones throws a nice head kick!
Jones moves out of range of the body kick.
Jones lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

OMalley is rocked!

Jones clinches up with OMalley and pushes him back against the cage.
Oh OMalley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones lands a body shot in the clinch.
OMalley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones dives in and grabs OMalley's left leg, looking for a takedown. OMalley pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged OMalley in a clinch.
Jones lands a shot to the body.
OMalley throws a head punch that misses.
Jones gets through OMalley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Jones jumps guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in OMalley's guard.

OMalley is looking for a triangle here but Jones uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jones staying calm.

Jones tries for a kimura but OMalley is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders OMalley to his feet.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Jones! OMalley is out on his feet! Jones rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - OMalley is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! OMalley is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
