Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gad Levy (ranked 5065 p4p, 5055 weight class) and Charlie Olives (ranked 431 p4p, 430 weight class). Charlie Olives has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gad Levy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charlie Olives!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Levy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Olives on his heels. He'll look to pass Olives's guard now, I'm sure.

Olives is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Levy presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Levy has picked Olives up - he's going for a ride! Levy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Well, if Levy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Levy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Levy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Olives tries to hold on but Levy pushes him away.
Levy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Olives has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Levy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Levy distracts Olives with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Levy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Olives working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Levy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Levy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Levy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Levy is nestled in close to Olives, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Levy feints and as Olives raises his hands in defense, Levy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Levy.

Olives is pressing down on Levy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Olives has his foot on Levy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Levy works his way back into a safe position though.
Levy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Olives is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Olives takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Levy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Levy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Olives for as long as he can get away with.
Olives moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Levy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Levy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Levy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
