The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Menday fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tryastsyn to the ground. Menday is now in Tryastsyn's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Menday connects with a couple of short punches. Tryastsyn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Menday gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tryastsyn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Menday defends well. Menday lands a couple of digs. Tryastsyn has his foot on Menday's thigh. That's two minutes gone in the round. Menday stands up over Tryastsyn, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Menday trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tryastsyn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Menday is refusing to be controlled, as Tryastsyn sits in half guard. Tryastsyn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Tryastsyn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tryastsyn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Menday is trying to maintain the position but Tryastsyn is very close to passing his half guard. Menday looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tryastsyn missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ground and pound from Tryastsyn. Tryastsyn prevents Menday from improving his position. Menday keeping control of the position. Tryastsyn scores with a couple of good hammerfists. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eugeniy Tryastsyn will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Menday slips a jab from Tryastsyn. A big left from Menday misses. Adams Menday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Menday uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tryastsyn.
Menday with the counter takedown but Tryastsyn avoids it easily. Tryastsyn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Menday doesn't seem bothered though. Menday gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tryastsyn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Menday thinking. Tryastsyn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Menday sees it coming and avoids it easily. Menday swings for the body but Tryastsyn moves out of range.
Tryastsyn throws a looping overhand right but Menday ducks down to avoid it. Menday dives in and grabs Tryastsyn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tryastsyn pushes down on Menday's head and hops out. Tryastsyn misses with a body shot.
