The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santh wants to clinch up but da Silva keeps it at a distance.
da Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
da Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Santh defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
da Silva performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Santh wants to improve his position but da Silva is controlling well.
da Silva is looking for a kimura but Santh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for da Silva to get the leverage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
da Silva looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Santh is trying to stand back up but da Silva is controlling him
Santh is breathing heavily.

da Silva moves into full mount! Santh won't be happy about that!

Santh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for da Silva on the ground.

da Silva working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Santh turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips da Silva off and cradles Santh's limp body as da Silva celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Wilson da Silva!
