Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ross Massey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Massey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blakroc - Coochie. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlson misses with a takedown attempt - Massey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Massey clinches. Carlson tries to pull guard but Massey won't allow it.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Carlson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carlson tries to pull guard but Massey won't allow it.
Ross Massey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Carlson. Massey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carlson shoots in for a double leg but Massey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlson throws a body punch but Massey moves out of range. Carlson shoots for a takedown but Massey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Massey gets the takedown into side control. Carlson wants to get back to his feet but Massey drags him back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson is trying to escape the position but Massey is controlling the position. Carlson is looking for a sweep. Massey stands up. Massey misses with a series of wild punches.

Carlson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carlson with a poor takedown and Massey holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Carlson looks gassed! A battle for position here, against the cage. Massey breaks from the clinch.
Donk. Massey catches Carlson right on the button with a cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson tries to clinch up and Massey counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Massey trying to mount his opponent but Carlson defends it. Massey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carlson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Massey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlson is just riding it out for now. Massey eventually gives up the hold. Carlson trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Massey wants to stand up but Carlson is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Massey stops Carlson from getting back to his feet.
Massey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlson on the ground. Massey decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Massey tries a head kick but it misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carlson darts in trying to clinch and Massey counters with a left and a right that stings Carlson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Massey dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Massey controlling the action here for a moment.
Carlson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Massey just stands there and leans against the cage. Massey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carlson blocks a head kick by Massey.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Massey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Carlson is trying to maintain the position but Massey is very close to passing his half guard. Carlson gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Massey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Carlson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Carlson working for a triangle but Massey defends it easily.
Massey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carlson is breathing heavily. Massey would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Massey trying to control the position from guard on top but Carlson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carlson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Massey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson wants to sweep here but Massey controlling him for the moment. Massey stands up and waves to Carlson to follow him. Massey looks to land a body kick but Carlson moved away. Ross Massey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Massey looks to land a combination but Carlson avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson tries to clinch but Massey moves out of range. Massey closes the distance and lands a one-two. Nice combo by Massey! Oh, that's hurt him - Carlson falls to the canvas and Massey follows him into side control.
Carlson is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Massey decides to stand back up. Massey steps back and let's Carlson get back to his feet. Carlson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Carlson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Massey stalks Carlson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carlson's face. Carlson staggers backwards, shaken. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Carlson has eaten all the pies! Massey drives through and clinches with Carlson against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Massey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Massey jabs Carlson right on the nose. Carlson blinks but takes it well. Massey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carlson to the mat! Carlson manages to get full guard. Massey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carlson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Massey wants to get up but he can't break Carlson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Massey postures up.
Massey tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlson is retaining full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carlson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Massey dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Carlson tries to clinch but Massey moves away and Massey counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nice straight punches there by Massey. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Massey. Carlson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Carlson shoots and misses enabling Massey to counter with a crisp jab. Massey keeps Carlson at a distance using the push kick. Massey drives through with a takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Massey lands a couple of decent looking shots. Massey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Massey wants to stand but Carlson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Massey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Carlson is looking for a triangle but Massey pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson has his foot on Massey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Massey works his way back into a safe position though. Massey wanted to stand there but Carlson had control of the position. Carlson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Massey should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Carlson has tightened it up now! Massey should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
