Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Hartwell (ranked 4557 p4p, 4972 weight class) and Roman Kersikov (ranked 509 p4p, 530 weight class). Hartwell's entrance music is “Hart Attack”. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersikov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kersikov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hartwell.
Hartwell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hartwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kersikov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kersikov dives in and grabs Hartwell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hartwell pushes down on Kersikov's head and hops out.
Hartwell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kersikov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kersikov is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Kersikov goes for a takedown attempt but Hartwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Brad Hartwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Kersikov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kersikov moves into the clinch.
Kersikov tries to pull guard but Hartwell forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kersikov blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kersikov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hartwell smiles and moves away.
Hartwell fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hartwell misses the jab.
Kersikov appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Hartwell lands a head shot.
Kersikov scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kersikov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
No luck for Kersikov with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hartwell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hartwell is looking to clinch.
Kersikov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hartwell but Hartwell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kersikov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hartwell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A head kick misses from Kersikov.

Hartwell shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hartwell looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hartwell looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kersikov is still in real trouble! Can Hartwell finish him?
Hartwell lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kersikov quite badly. Kersikov pulls Hartwell in close trying to recover. Hartwell postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kersikov on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kersikov doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brad Hartwell!
In his post fight interview, Brad Hartwell started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
