Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Midnight Cigarette (ranked 2885 p4p, 3261 weight class) and Shoto Todoroki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cigarette comes to the cage accompanied by Burning of the Midnight Lamp. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Midnight Cigarette!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shoto Todoroki!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todoroki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cigarette's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cigarette working for a triangle but Todoroki defends it easily.

Todoroki is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Todoroki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cigarette has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Todoroki felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Cigarette has hold of Todoroki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Todoroki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Midnight Cigarette dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cigarette looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Todoroki!
Todoroki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cigarette wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cigarette wants to lay and pray for a moment but Todoroki keeps working.

Cigarette in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Todoroki is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

After winning the bout, Midnight Cigarette thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
