PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noah Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Darsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by "Waking The Demon" - BFMV. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noah Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Darsh!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darsh wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance.

Anderson darts in and clinches Darsh up against the cage.
Anderson stalling against the cage.
Anderson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Darsh is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Darsh tries to pull guard but Anderson holds him up against the cage and eventually Darsh drops back down to his feet.

Anderson breaks the clinch.
Anderson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Darsh looks to clinch

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Darsh wants to stand but Anderson is controlling the position.
Darsh is trying to keep Anderson in close.

Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Darsh on the ground.

Anderson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Anderson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Anderson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Darsh, pushing him back against the cage.
Darsh gets underhooks to prevent Anderson's takedown attempt.

Anderson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Anderson has momentary wrist control but Darsh slips an elbow through the middle.
Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Darsh wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position.
Anderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Noah Anderson has been cut.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Darsh tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Anderson swivels and escapes.
Noah Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Darsh.
Darsh keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Darsh tries to pull guard but Anderson won't allow it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Darsh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Anderson jumps guard but Darsh stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Anderson has clasped his hands together around Darsh's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Darsh manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Anderson wants to stand and escape but instead Darsh has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Darsh scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Darsh stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Anderson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anderson.

Darsh jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Anderson manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Noah Anderson will probably get the nod.

That's time! Anderson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Darsh throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Darsh wants to clinch.
Anderson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Darsh circles away.

Darsh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Darsh off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Darsh had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Anderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Darsh Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Anderson's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson is trying to get back to his feet but Darsh has full control of the position and if anything, Anderson has just worked his way into a worse spot.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Darsh is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Anderson up.

Noah Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

I think Anderson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
