Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Craig Thornton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mani Kolbeinsson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kolbeinsson has Thornton up against the cage in a clinch.
Kolbeinsson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thornton slips a jab from Kolbeinsson.
Thornton connects with a right hand. Kolbeinsson shakes it off.
It looks like Mani Kolbeinsson has been cut.
Thornton misses with a straight right.
Kolbeinsson takes one to the side of the head.
Thornton lands a nice looking body shot.
Thornton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thornton tries to land a front kick but Kolbeinsson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kolbeinsson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kolbeinsson throws a body shot but no joy.
Thornton scores with a jab. Kolbeinsson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Thornton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kolbeinsson manages to avoid it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kolbeinsson misses with a left hand
and Thornton counters with a stiff right hand.
Kolbeinsson clinches.
Still in the clinch, Kolbeinsson scores with a nice short uppercut.
A left hand lands to the body for Thornton.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kolbeinsson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've been told by Thornton's head coaches at House of 1000 Corpses that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kolbeinsson slips a straight right by Thornton.
Thornton drops Kolbeinsson with a big left hand! Kolbeinsson is injured, injured bad! Thornton jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig Thornton!
Craig Thornton very nearly forgot to thank Bondi MMA amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
