Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hero Complex (ranked 3542 p4p, 2153 weight class) and Patrice Devereaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Complex's entrance music is Family Tradition by Hank Jr. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hero Complex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrice Devereaux!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devereaux tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Complex manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Devereaux rushes Complex and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Devereaux successfully pulls guard.
Complex postures up.
Complex seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Devereaux has momentary wrist control but Complex slips an elbow through the middle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Complex seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Devereaux for as long as he can get away with.

Complex got a little sloppy there for a moment and Devereaux has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Complex has managed to get both his arms back between Devereaux's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Devereaux drops back, looking for a kneebar! Complex looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Complex looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Complex!

Complex tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Complex has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hero Complex is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Complex takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Complex's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Complex, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
