The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sortello throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Sortello.
Sortello throws a head kick that misses.
Sortello is looking to score with low kicks.
Sortello throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sortello gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Sortello is retaining full guard.
Sortello wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sortello looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sortello looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sortello!
Sortello wants to stand but Gracie has his arm trapped.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
It looks like Sortello is going to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie gets back to full guard.
Sortello looks gassed!
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gracie passes to full mount!
Sortello wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Gracie working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sortello turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gracie off and cradles Sortello's limp body as Gracie celebrates with his corner.
