Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Royal Savage (ranked 820 p4p, 646 weight class) and Jean Pierre Archambeau (ranked 113 p4p, 95 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Royal Savage!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Pierre Archambeau!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archambeau tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Savage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Savage misses with a body shot.
Savage looks to throw the jab but Archambeau is out of range.

Archambeau closes the distance and clinches.

Savage is fighting off a takedown attempt but Archambeau is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Savage to the mat. Savage regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Savage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Archambeau is controlling him.

Archambeau is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Savage is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Savage has escaped and now he's on top!

Archambeau pulls Savage in close to his closed guard and prevents Savage from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Archambeau tightens his grip and picks Savage up, before dumping him to the ground. Savage manages to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Archambeau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Savage swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Archambeau wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Archambeau tries to close the distance and clinch but Savage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It looks like Jean Pierre Archambeau has been cut.
We've been told by Savage's head coaches at Blood and Iron Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Archambeau ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Archambeau no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

No joy there for Savage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Archambeau lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

and Savage counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Savage cracks Archambeau with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Archambeau looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Savage finish him?

Archambeau has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Savage after a bit of a struggle.

Savage gets through Archambeau's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Savage is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Savage dips a shoulder and cracks Archambeau with a mighty uppercut! Archambeau falls back against the cage and Savage unloads with a barrage of strikes! Archambeau is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Savage screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Royal Savage!
The Royal Savage retains his lightweight title!
A relieved looking The Royal Savage thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
