Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dio Nysus (ranked 2133 p4p, 2543 weight class) and Josiah Harlan (ranked 279 p4p, 326 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harlan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nice defenses there by Nysus.
Nysus waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Harlan.
Harlan appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Nysus throws a hook but Harlan avoids it easily.
Nysus misses with a wild combination.
Nysus throws a poor cross that misses
and Harlan counters with a stiff right hand.
Nysus on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Harlan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nysus misses with a hook. Harlan ducked under it nicely.

Harlan clinches up against the cage.
Harlan's coach down at GWad's Playpen was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Harlan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Nysus wants to break the clinch but can't.
Harlan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Nysus is breathing heavily.
Nysus misses with a hook to the ribs.
Harlan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Nysus.
Harlan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Nysus's elbow.
Harlan gets through Nysus's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
I was talking to Nysus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Nysus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Harlan scores with a body shot.
Harlan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Harlan closes the distance and clinches.
Harlan misses with a hook to the ribs.
A right hook to the body lands for Harlan.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Harlan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Harlan cracks Nysus with a nice body shot.

Nysus tries to break the clinch but Harlan is controlling the position.
Harlan lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Nysus or not.
Harlan lands a hook that snaps the head of Nysus backwards.

Harlan works on Nysus's body with a couple of short punches.
Harlan gets through Nysus's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Oh Nysus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Harlan unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Nysus! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Harlan is unloading with more strikes now! Nysus drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
