Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuoni Perkele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Maze!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maze will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Perkele leaves Maze with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Perkele throws a big counter combination but Maze scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maze.
Tuoni Perkele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Maze.
No luck for Maze with that takedown attempt.
Perkele misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perkele gets a clinch.

Perkele has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Maze is trying to keep an underhook but Perkele manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perkele throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Perkele is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Maze trying to hold on to Perkele's head to control him but Perkele postures up.
Perkele trying to advance position but Maze counters by regaining guard.
Perkele wants to stand but Maze has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Maze working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Perkele doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Maze is tightening it up a little... Perkele has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Perkele reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Perkele taps out! Nice BJJ there by Maze!
