Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akim Afanasy (ranked 2344 p4p, 2580 weight class) and Niall Ferguson (ranked 301 p4p, 327 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Akim Afanasy has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Akim Afanasy seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Afanasy fails to land the takedown.
Ferguson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Afanasy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ferguson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Afanasy somewhat.
Afanasy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Ferguson counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akim Afanasy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Afanasy dodges the punch combination from Ferguson.
Ferguson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Afanasy closes the distance but Ferguson moves to the side
and Ferguson counters with a huge left! Afanasy is in big trouble! He's backing up but Ferguson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Afanasy from any more damage. A dominating finish by Ferguson!
