Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sione Veainu (ranked 652 p4p, 1527 weight class) and Leon McClane (ranked 94 p4p, 208 weight class). McClane has chosen Come & Get Some of This, House of Pain as his entrance music. Leon McClane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Veainu throws a jab but it's blocked by McClane.

Veainu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Veainu was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Veainu tries to close the distance and clinch up but McClane swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Veainu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McClane has time to react.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Veainu is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed McClane to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Veainu has gone for a leg lock! McClane slips out almost immediately though and dives into Veainu's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McClane throws an elbow that misses. Veainu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McClane's guard. Nice move by Veainu!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Veainu postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McClane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Veainu, into his guard.

McClane is looking to work some ground and pound but Veainu has wrist control.
McClane stands and throws Veainu's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sione Veainu.
