Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Richards (ranked 3990 p4p, 5632 weight class) and Nero Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jacob Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nero Suarez! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Suarez was well out of range. Poor timing from Richards. Richards looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Suarez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Suarez working the head with strikes. Richards takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Suarez trying to control the action but Richards is working from the bottom. Suarez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Richards sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Richards on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Suarez creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Suarez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Richards is trying to get an arm triangle but Suarez is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Suarez can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacob Richards will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. No joy there for Richards, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Suarez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Richards throws out the jab. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Suarez gets a clinch. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Richards with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nice strikes from Suarez there. Suarez winds up and cracks Richards with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Richards is rocked! Suarez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Suarez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Suarez connects with a nice short shot to Richards's temple. Suarez is nestled in close to Richards, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Richards taking some punishment here, with Suarez in his half guard. Suarez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suarez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Richards knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Suarez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Suarez is stalling here. Richards is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Suarez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Richards has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Suarez struggling a bit here. Suarez has one of Richards's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Suarez is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richards tries for a kimura but Suarez is defending well. Nero Suarez has got the better of the ground game so far. Suarez is trying to control Richards's posture but Richards avoids it. Suarez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Richards thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Richards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Richards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Richards is trying to get an arm triangle but Suarez is defending well. Suarez tries to improve position but can't. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Suarez keeps trying to improve his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nero Suarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Suarez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Richards to the ground. Suarez is now in Richards's guard. Suarez stands up over Richards, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Suarez scoring with some ground and pound. Suarez with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suarez is in close to Richards's body, working some short punches and elbows. Suarez throws a sloppy strike and Richards has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Suarez is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Richards!
