Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Slater (ranked 3990 p4p, 4848 weight class) and Plerkin McJerkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Plerkin McJerkins!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater shoots in for a double leg but McJerkins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McJerkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McJerkins gets caught flat footed, as Slater shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McJerkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Slater controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Slater tries to free his leg and advance position but McJerkins is retaining full guard.
Slater looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Slater closes the distance and clinches up with McJerkins, looking for a takedown. Slater pushes McJerkins against the cage but McJerkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Slater remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
