Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Verney Lapierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alak Mouskal!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapierre uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mouskal.

so Lapierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lapierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lapierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lapierre drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mouskal looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mouskal looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mouskal!

Mouskal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lapierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lapierre had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mouskal defends it easily.

Lapierre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mouskal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lapierre pushes a forearm under Mouskal's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mouskal is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Verney Lapierre!
