The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sage tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Menendez paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sage forces Menendez back against the cage and clinches.
Sage is trying to pull guard but Menendez has him pressed against the cage.
Menendez looking to stall.
Menendez is trying to break the clinch but Sage has him pressed against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Sage manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Menendez trying to control the position from guard on top but Sage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sage is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Menendez defends well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Menendez is one step ahead there.
Sage manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Menendez manages to get himself to full guard.

Menendez pushes Sage off and gets back to his feet.

Sage rushes Menendez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sage gets control of Menendez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sage will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Menendez rolls with it to try and escape but Sage cranks on the arm and Menendez is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
