Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Randalman (ranked 1232 p4p, 300 weight class) and Grigoriy Petrov (ranked 170 p4p, 43 weight class). Randalman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Creedence Clearwater - Fortunate Son. Randy Randalman has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Randalman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Grigoriy Petrov! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrov swings for the body but Randalman moves out of range.
Randalman with a poor takedown and Petrov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've been hearing reports that Randalman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Randalman staying out of range there. Randalman throws a hook but Petrov blocks it. Randalman dives in and scores a takedown into Petrov's guard. Petrov pulls Randalman in close to prevent any damage. Randalman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Randalman's corner is telling him to maintain position. Randalman looking to sit in guard and control but Petrov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petrov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Randalman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Randalman working for a triangle but Petrov defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petrov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Randalman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Petrov has managed to get both his arms back between Randalman's legs - danger averted. Randalman has his foot on Petrov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Petrov works his way back into a safe position though. Randalman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Petrov looking to pass the guard. Petrov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Petrov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Randalman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Randalman has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Petrov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Randalman has tightened it up now! Petrov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Randy Randalman! A very excited looking Randy Randalman made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
