PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Rowen (ranked 6055 p4p, 4506 weight class) and Manny Paiwia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowen misses with a kick to the body.
Rowen misses with a leg kick.

Rowen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Paiwia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Paiwia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Paiwia in particular looking to stall.

Let's hope that Paiwia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paiwia lands a big shot there that rocks Rowen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Paiwia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rowen goes for a double leg but Paiwia avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paiwia continues to drive forward.

Paiwia uses his free foot to push down on Rowen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rowen.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Paiwia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
