Bjornsson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ultimate - Denzel Curry. and Sapo counters with a nice body shot.

Sapo throws a hook but Bjornsson avoids it easily.

and Sapo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sapo digs a good body shot into Bjornsson's ribs.

Bjornsson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sapos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sapo lands a left and a right that send Bjornsson crashing to the mat, dazed. Sapo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Sapo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bjornsson rather than just go for the knockout.

We've been hearing reports that Bjornsson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bjornsson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sapo momentarily.

Bjornsson is looking to pass into half guard but Sapo pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sapo is in guard.
Bjornsson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Bjornsson has his foot on Sapo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sapo works his way back into a safe position though.
Sapo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bjornsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bjornsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sapo defends well.
Bjornsson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sapo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sapo wants to control from the top but Bjornsson keeps moving.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sapo. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Sapo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sapo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Oooooh!!! Sapo has knocked Bjornsson down with a huge combo! Sapo steps away and waves a wobbly Bjornsson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Sapo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sapo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bjornsson was well out of range. Poor timing from Sapo.
Bjornsson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Bjornsson throws a shot from downtown. Sapo moves away and avoids it.
Bjornsson seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Sapo shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Bjornsson is backing up but Sapo catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Bjornsson covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Sapo Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

After winning the bout, Rob Sapo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
