Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, BC Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Steel! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Steel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target. Steel missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Smith is looking to clinch. Steel tests Smith's chin there with a solid looking shot. Steel cracks Smith with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. The crowd cheers as Steel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though. Smith takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smith has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Steel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A big right from Steel misses. Steel cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Steel has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Smith to stand back up!
Smith is rocked! Steel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steel avoids it really well and circles away. Steel has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel moves in close and cracks Smith with a massive right hand! Smith, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Steel!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Daniel Steel! An out of breath Daniel Steel thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
