Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Joseph Telushikin (ranked 18124 p4p, 2391 weight class) and Frankie Griggs (ranked 646 p4p, 307 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Griggs's choice of entrance music: Tank!- Seatbelts (Cowboy Bebop Opening). Frankie Griggs has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Telushikin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frankie Griggs!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Telushikin slips a jab and a cross from Griggs.
Telushikin tries to bum rush Griggs with a series of wild strikes but Griggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Telushikin scores with a hook to the body. Griggs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Telushikin rushes Griggs and presses him up against the ropes.
Telushikin has Griggs pressed against the ropes, preventing Griggs from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Telushikin lands with a left to the head.
A frustrated look appears on Griggs's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Griggs is trying to break the clinch but Telushikin is controlling him.
A shot in the inside from Telushikin.

Griggs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A punch combination from Griggs misses.
The fighters circling - Griggs throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Telushikin moves in looking to clinch but Griggs pushes him off.
Joseph Telushikin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griggs looks to land a combination but Telushikin avoids it well.
Griggs throws a head kick that misses.
Telushikin tries to clinch but Griggs is having none of it.
Griggs throws a jab but it's blocked by Telushikin.

Telushikin tries to clinch there but Griggs circles away.

Telushikin misses with a head kick.
Telushikin lands a leg kick that knocks Griggs off balance momentarily.
Telushikin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Frankie Griggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Griggs throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Telushikin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Griggs throws a good cross that connects.

Telushikin rushes Griggs and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Griggs wants to break the clinch but can't.
Griggs is trying to push Telushikin away but Telushikin has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Griggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Telushikin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Griggs throws a fast counter high kick but Telushikin manages to duck under it in time.
Telushikin tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Griggs manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Telushikin tries to clinch but Griggs is having none of it.
Griggs throws a combination that misses
and Telushikin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Griggs throws a head kick that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Telushikin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Telushikin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Telushikin is looking to clinch.
Griggs looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Griggs shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Telushikin instigates a clinch.

Griggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Griggs circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick by Telushikin misses

and before Telushikin can reset, Griggs rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Telushikin is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue!
Griggs throws a right and a left that Telushikin avoids nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Griggs misses with a shot to the body
and Telushikin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Frankie Griggs should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Telushikin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griggs fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Griggs scores with a big combo that sends Telushikin crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Telushikin flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Griggs jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frankie Griggs!
After winning the bout, Frankie Griggs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
