The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Givens misses with the body kick

Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Montreal inform us that Givens has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Tight is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Givens is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Givens has escaped and now he's on top!

Tight is pulling down on Givens's head. It's preventing any offense from Givens, at least for the moment.

Tight looking for a guillotine here but Givens defends easily.

Givens stands and steps away. Tight gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Givens enables Tight to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Givens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Tight throws a sloppy strike and Givens has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Tight is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Givens!
