Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Tucker (ranked 5131 p4p, 5608 weight class) and Roberto Gaviria (ranked 515 p4p, 540 weight class). Tucker comes to the cage accompanied by Ave Maria. Gaviria has chosen The Beast as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jerome Tucker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Gaviria! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tucker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Roberto Gaviria has been cut. Tucker is looking to clinch. Tucker tries to clinch up but Gaviria circles away and keeps his distance. Tucker avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gaviria tries to clinch and Tucker counters with a right hand to the body. Gaviria tries to sprawl but Tucker drives through with a takedown into half guard. Gaviria has one foot on Tucker's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gaviria shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Tucker wants to control but Gaviria is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tucker is looking to improve his position.
Gaviria is trying to control the action in half guard but Tucker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaviria is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tucker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tucker tries to get out of the position. Tucker is refusing to be controlled, as Gaviria sits in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tucker has one foot on Gaviria's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gaviria fails to land the takedown. Tucker works over Gaviria's head and body with a nice combination. Tucker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tucker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Tucker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tucker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gaviria for as long as he can get away with. Gaviria has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Gaviria wants to control but Tucker is keeping busy.

Gaviria seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Tucker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gaviria is keeping the position for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gaviria tries to keep at a distance but Tucker has taken the fight into the clinch. Tucker drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tucker throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Gaviria being controlled here momentarily. Gaviria working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Tucker wants to sweep here but Gaviria controlling him for the moment. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tucker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gaviria's guard. Gaviria is trying to keep Tucker in close.
Gaviria wants to sweep here but Tucker controlling him for the moment. Tucker controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaviria manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tucker manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker keeping moving, preventing Gaviria from controlling successfully. Tucker is trying to keep Gaviria in close.
Tucker has a closed guard, preventing Gaviria from standing up. Tucker pulls Gaviria in to control the position. Gaviria engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Tucker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tucker has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gaviria has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Tucker has Gaviria pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tucker pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gaviria tumbling to the mat - Tucker dives into Gaviria's guard. Tucker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gaviria is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tucker stands up and waves to Gaviria to follow him. Tucker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tucker sets himself, and Gaviria steps forward looking for the clinch! Tucker avoids it this time. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gaviria.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Gaviria or perhaps it was just good defense by Tucker, which made it look bad. Tucker clinches with his opponent.
Gaviria jumps guard but Tucker stands there with Gaviria around his waist. Gaviria gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jerome Tucker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Gaviria. Tucker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tucker feints and as Gaviria raises his hands in defense, Tucker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Tucker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gaviria, up you get! Gaviria is breathing heavily. Tucker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Tucker. Gaviria throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tucker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tucker manages to end up in side control. Gaviria throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! This has been an exciting period of action! No luck with that takedown attempt from Gaviria. Tucker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gaviria was covering up waiting for the punch and Tucker finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tucker with a nice head shot there. Tucker gets to his feet - Gaviria follows without any prompting. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jerome Tucker dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Roberto Gaviria's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Gaviria shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tucker as he avoids it easily. A head kick misses from Tucker. Tucker leaves Gaviria with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tucker throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Tucker drives through with a takedown into Gaviria's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Tucker tries to free his leg and advance position but Gaviria is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaviria looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tucker passes into side control.
Gaviria takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tucker stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaviria shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jerome Tucker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Gaviria. Tucker gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tucker gets a trip takedown into half guard. Tucker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gaviria wants to control but Tucker is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tucker slows the pace down in half guard. Tucker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tucker decides to stand up. Gaviria looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tucker is fending him off so far but Gaviria persists. Nope, Tucker circles away and we're back to standing. Tucker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gaviria on his heels. He'll look to pass Gaviria's guard now, I'm sure. Tucker working some strikes from top position. Tucker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tucker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tucker looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Tucker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tucker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tucker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tucker drops an elbow to the side of Gaviria's head. Roberto Gaviria has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jerome Tucker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tucker connects with a nice short shot to Gaviria's temple. Tucker not doing much here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gaviria has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tucker is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Jerome Tucker showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tucker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jerome Tucker! Jerome Tucker decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. The defeated Roberto Gaviria had this to say: 'Not how i wanted the day to go but we learn, we adapt. We go again!'.
