The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Wong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bass manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Bass wants to take a breather but Wong is having none of it. Wong missing with punches from the bottom.
Wong is not content to let Bass control the position. Wong missing with punches from the bottom.
Bass will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bass trying to control the action but Wong is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wong wants to control but Bass is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wong looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bass is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wong defends it well. Bass takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Wong works his way to full guard. Good work. Bass preventing the sweep. Bass has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wong has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bass should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Wong has tightened it up now! Bass should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ty Wong! Ty Wong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
