Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Maestre (ranked 754 p4p, 1569 weight class) and Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 23 p4p, 56 weight class). Takeishi has chosen Kabuki Gomen-Jyo as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Maestre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitsugu Takeishi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeishi has closed the distance and engaged Maestre in a clinch.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Takeishi. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Takeishi misses with a punch on the inside.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. A head punch blocked on the inside by Maestre. Takeishi keeps control of Maestre as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Maestre blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Takeishi drives through and clinches with Maestre against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maestre escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mitsugu Takeishi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takeishi loads up on a big right hand but Maestre slips the punch. Maestre moves out of range of the strikes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mitsugu Takeishi dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Maestre slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Mitsugu Takeishi has been cut. Takeishi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nice defenses there by Takeishi. Takeishi wants to counter with a clinch but Maestre pushes him away. Maestre keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Takeishi. Maestre swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Takeishi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Takeishi tries to move into range but Maestre moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Maestre fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maestre smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Maestre scores with the left hand. Takeishi knows he should have avoided that one. Maestre sends Takeishi crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Maestre is motioning to the referee to let Takeishi up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Takeishi is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takeishi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Takeishi is still on wobbly legs! Can Maestre finish him? Maestre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maestre drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Takeishi's head, knocking him out cold! Maestre is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
