Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Aalto tenderised Merel's leg. Merel is trying to keep his angry face on.

Merel tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Aalto throws a lazy right hand but Merel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Merel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Aalto throws a sloppy head kick and Merel moves out of range easily.
Merel is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Merel cracks Aalto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Aalto bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Aalto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Merel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aalto has managed to get both his arms back between Merel's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

He's locked it up tight! Merel's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Aalto picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
