Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Test Fighter (ranked 3024 p4p, 3476 weight class) and Roelof Gerritzen (ranked 383 p4p, 0 weight class). Roelof Gerritzen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Test Fighter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Test Fighter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roelof Gerritzen! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gerritzen shoots in and bounces Fighter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fighter looking for a guillotine here but Gerritzen defends easily.
Fighter looking to control.
Fighter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gerritzen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter has his hands on Gerritzen's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gerritzen is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gerritzen looking to pass the guard. Gerritzen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fighter is proving hard to escape from. Gerritzen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Gerritzen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fighter wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gerritzen sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Fighter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Fighter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fighter misses with a head kick.
Gerritzen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fighter's guard. Gerritzen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fighter working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gerritzen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fighter's guard. Gerritzen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fighter has control of Gerritzen's left arm, preventing Gerritzen from doing any damage. Fighter keeping moving, preventing Gerritzen from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Fighter darts in trying to clinch and Gerritzen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Fighter!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen is staying tight to Fighter's torso, preventing him from escaping. Gerritzen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Fighter is being controlled here. Fighter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gerritzen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gerritzen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gerritzen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gerritzen is looking to take a break and control but Fighter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roelof Gerritzen dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Fighter enables Gerritzen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fighter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gerritzen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fighter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fighter is working an open guard so Gerritzen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Gerritzen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fighter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gerritzen is in Fighter's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter trying to control the position.
Gerritzen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Fighter wants to sweep here but Gerritzen controlling him for the moment.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Gerritzen forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fighter is trying to control but can't.
Fighter gets back to full guard.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Gerritzen from controlling successfully. Fighter wants to sweep but no luck. Fighter trying to keep a closed guard but Gerritzen is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Test Fighter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gerritzen lands a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen tries to clinch there but Fighter circles away.
Gerritzen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fighter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fighter controls Gerritzen momentarily but Gerritzen frees himself. Gerritzen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gerritzen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Gerritzen is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen won't allow Fighter to sweep him here. Gerritzen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Gerritzen looking to pass the guard. Fighter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Some bone on bone action there as Fighter checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gerritzen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Fighter tries to get to full guard but Gerritzen has control of the leg. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roelof Gerritzen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Fighter shoots in for a double leg but Gerritzen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gerritzen with the counter takedown but Fighter avoids it easily. Fighter tries to clinch up but Gerritzen circles away and keeps his distance. Gerritzen gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gerritzen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice sprawl there from Fighter as Gerritzen shoots in. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gerritzen. Gerritzen is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fighter will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Gerritzen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Gerritzen stands up and we're back to a striking position. Gerritzen dives in and scores a takedown into Fighter's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gerritzen working some strikes from top position. Gerritzen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fighter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gerritzen trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gerritzen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fighter has a closed guard, preventing Gerritzen from standing up. Gerritzen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fighter being controlled here, momentarily. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Fighter working for a triangle but Gerritzen defends it easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fighter tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. No luck for Fighter with that takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gerritzen controlling from side mount. Gerritzen wants to control but Fighter is keeping him busy. Gerritzen wants to stand but Fighter has his arm trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gerritzen decides to take the fight back to the feet. Gerritzen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fighter wants to get back to his feet.
Fighter is looking to control Gerritzen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fighter avoid being mounted? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gerritzen stalling. Test Fighter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roelof Gerritzen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Roelof Gerritzen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gerritzen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
