The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maca Jr forces Chavez back against the cage and clinches.

and Maca Jr counters with a low kick, right behind Chavez 's knee.
Jordenis Maca Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Chavez .
Maca Jr changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Maca Jr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chavez 's sensitive parts.
Chavez shoots in for a double leg but Maca Jr sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maca Jr digs a good hook to Chavez 's body.
Alex Chavez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A low kick lands for Maca Jr.
Maca Jr lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chavez or perhaps it was just good defense by Maca Jr, which made it look bad.

It looks like Alex Chavez has been cut.
Maca Jr lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Chavez up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Maca Jr from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Chavez 's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
