Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Artem Klitschko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Harinck! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harinck changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Klitschko tries to avoid it but Harinck manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Klitschko to the ground. Klitschko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Artem Klitschko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harinck moves out of range of the strikes. Klitschko lands a body shot.
Klitschko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Harinck sees it coming and avoids it easily. Klitschko throws a low kick but it's checked well by Harinck. And Harinck tries to counter it with a takedown but Klitschko pushes his down on his head and steps out. Klitschko throws a body kick that misses and Harinck counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Harinck doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klitschko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Harinck goes for a double leg but Klitschko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Klitschko continues to drive forward. A looping hook to the body misses from Klitschko. Harinck does a little dance to reset his feet. Klitschko fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klitschko throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Harinck counters with a single leg into guard. Klitschko didn't expect that. Klitschko wants to get back to his feet but Harinck is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Harinck wants to pass the guard but Klitschko is keeping the position. Harinck with a flurry of punches that miss. Klitschko wants to stand up but Harinck is controlling him. Klitschko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Klitschko tries to get out of the position. Harinck tries to free his leg and advance position but Klitschko is retaining full guard. Harinck is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Harinck pushing down on Klitschko's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klitschko is trying to stand back up but Harinck is controlling him
Klitschko won't allow Harinck to pass to mount. Harinck is figuring out what he wants to do next. Klitschko is looking to escape. Harinck is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Harinck is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Harinck seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Klitschko is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
